Alaska Blacktail Adventures offers
premiere Sitka Blacktail Deer hunting amidst the spectacular scenery of
Alaska's majestic Kodiak Island.
If you're looking for a special kind of deer hunt, set amidst the
spectacular scenery of Kodiak and its surrounding islands, then you've come
to the right outfit. With an estimated deer population of over 60,000 and a
current season limit of three, there'll be plenty of action for hunters that
head afield with Alaska Blacktail Adventures. We offer 6 day/6 night hunts from October to early December at a cost of $2000 per person.
 Hunting
for Sitka Blacktail Deer from aboard our 43' vessel, the
"SeaWitch," offers numerous advantages over regular drop-off type
hunts. Our knowledge of the country and the mobility of our vessel helps to
put you close to the concentrations of blacktails. From our boat-based
hunts you'll also enjoy deliciously prepared meals, the safety of sleeping
(and hanging your game) away from the bears, plenty of hot water, TV/VCR,
110V power, a roomy and heated cabin, and the comfort of a warm and dry
bunk. To maximize enjoyment for all of our guests, we limit our hunting
parties to four.
 Depending on your preferences, weather conditions,
and the location of game, you may beach hunt or hike into mountain saddles
in pursuit of blacktails. Recognizing that ours are wilderness hunts and
with a concern for your safety afield, hunters are dropped in pairs and
provided with a hand-held radio to keep them in touch with the SeaWitch.
It is important for all of our prospective clients to understand
that Alaska Blacktail Adventures is not a guiding operation. Non- USA
citizens are required to have registered guides. If you need
the assistance of a registered Alaskan guide, then this is not the hunt
for you. All hunters are expected to do their own spotting, stalking,
shooting, field dressing, and packing. While we can get you to where
the deer are and take care of your personal creature comforts, ultimately
the hunt success is your responsibility. Most hunters that are in
reasonably good physical condition though, can pretty much count on an
opportunity of limiting out during their hunt. While you're there you may
also want to do a little halibut fishing.

 Hunting Licenses:
Resident hunting /fishing licenses are $40/year. For out of state hunters, a hunting license is $85 and deer tags
are $150 each
(3 deer/person). A 7-day fishing license is $55.
